Feedback from Intro

Today in lesson today, we exported our intro and showed our class to get some audience feedback.

we got feedback saying...

The shot of Jacob over the bath looks like a photo so it needs shortening
We should put more church shots in the intro.
Put more of the dragging scenes in.
Less of the bloody hands shots.
When we colour grade it we should have it black and white, where the black is really black, and have everything else reddy brown.
We should layer a blood background over the top.

Responding to Feedback

Before the weekend we started to edit and make the changes from what people had feed back to us. I started by darkening some of the bright field shots, then we took out a  shaky shot from the beginning. We also took out a shot from one of the fast cuts as there was one too many in. From here now we are concentrating on the narrative and we need to add more of the church shots in.

ADD PICTURE OF MAKING SHOT DARKER!!

Initial Narrative Editing

During lesson today we started editing the narrative for the music video. I started by putting in all the shots we needed in the instrumental at the start: this includes the dragging scenes. This is allowing us now to start chopping it up to the beats and make some logical sense.

In addition to this, we had ideas that in the instrumental parts of the song we are going to have strobe lighting and shots of Jacob looking possessed and narrative shots.

Feedback from 1st Edit

Today in lesson we got feedback from our class and Mr Wallis for things we could improve on.

At 2 Minutes one of the fast cut edits to the beat doesn't match up- we had one too many shots in. We have now taken it out

We should put more church scenes in it and more of the high angle corner shots.

During the chorus the shots of Jacob in the open fields are really exposed so they need making darker.

At some points the camera is very shaky and needs sorting out.

Lastly, we need to focus on the narrative now.

Editing Today

After me and Jacob spent 3 hours at the computer today the first performance edit is done. We are now currently exporting what we have done so far to get some feedback from what we have done. From tomorrow we are going to start putting in our narrative shots at the start and through our instrumentals.

Feedback from Sir

Today, Bossman Mr Hire watched what we had edited so far and gave us some researched. He told us at some points to slow the editing down so lip syncing can be fully taken in as at some points the editing is too fast.

Me and Jacob are editing tonight so we will work on this.

Editing in lesson

Today we editing around 20 seconds of footage. We got some more fast cutting done over the beats and some more performance editing.

Editing

Unfortunately, due to the amount of footage we have, spreading across 3 SD cards and a memory stick, there isn't enough ports on the computer to have everything plugged in at once. This means today we have been able to edit. However, I have ordered a new memory stick that we will be able to fit everything on so editing will become easier. Overall this means that we will have to stay at school after the day ends to get it finished.

Practice Website - Analysis

After doing a practice website I am going to analyse what I have done on the Home page.

I used this font as it fits with the conventions of the genre as it looks quite sci-fi looking.

I used this basic font as it is easy to read and allows the audience to locate around the website easily. In addition to this I used all these page links to as it is a convention of the genre.

This picture above is links to various Social Media sites that the band will be on. This is a convention of the genre as it allows the audience to engage with the band where ever they are.

This picture here is the main area on the home page. It contains some practice footage we used. On our real site it will have the full music video on, allowing the audience to engage in the band and get an interest for the song. Moreover, the various payment methods to buy the single allows the audience to engage as it is easy for them to buy the song.
