Intertextuality in Music Videos

The song "Soul is Mine" by Mushroomhead very much references and refers to the film "Saw VI". This is shown throughout at various points where scenes from the film are recreated in the music video.

For example at 0:41, the scene in Saw VI where the protagonist has to choose who to kill and who to save on the roundabout is shown through an over the head/ birds eye view shot of the round about.

In addition to this the actual scene from the film is shown throughout the video where the character has to chose who to kill.

Furthermore, The lead singer in Mushroomhead is also dressed up as the Protagonist from the Saw series. He has the ropes on but he has jazzed it up to fit with the genre and their conventions by wearing the face paint.

Moreover, at the end of the video the clip of the protagonist talking  on the TV screen is shown. This also further adds to the fact that it is referencing it.
